Running Essentials

Running is fun, easy and highly beneficial for our body and mind. Anybody can start running and reap the benefits for a healthy life. 

Running doesn’t need any expensive equipment, unless you chose to run on the treadmill, in the gym or at home.

Running Shoes

    • A good pair of running shoes is essential for optimal performance.
    • Inappropriate shoes can be uncomfortable and might make you want to quit after a while.

Running Top

    • Choose something comfortable to wear. You do not want anything too tight or too loose to obstruct your running
    • Look for fabrics that pull away the moisture from your skin since you will be sweating more during your runs

Running Tack Pant

Running Socks

    • Running socks are made of fabrics which keeps moisture away from feet. This prevents soaking up of sweat thus preventing blisters and bad odours.

Running Bra

    • A good Running Bra will help wick away sweat as well as keep you cool and helps minimize movements.

Waist Pack

    • You might need to wear a waist pack to put your keys or any other essentials you couldn’t leave behind. Some packs also come with small water bottles.
    • This will make your running distraction-free.

Water Bottle

    • Running will make you sweat, so it’s crucial that you carry a water bottle with you. you need to keep yourself hydrated during and after your runs. Dehydration will lead to tiredness which will affect your performance.
    • Some bottles are foldable too, to be tucked away after use.

Reflective Safety Vest

    • Reflective clothing is very essential when you choose to run outside in the dark. This keeps you visible to everyone aound you, specially to moving vehicles. These prevent you from getting into an accident.
    • Reflective clothings, arm bands and shoes are easily available in shops for runners and cyclists. Its no doubt a good investment if you are one of the night runners.

Running Backpack

    • Running Backpacks are optional. You might want to use it if have a lot of things to carry, or if you run to work.
    • Running backpacks are also great to improve your performance by putting in some weights in it.

Running App

    • Running Apps can be downloaded on your mobile device. They are great to keep track of your running distances, time etc. It allows you to save your runs to track your progress.
    • The Running App which I use is called 'Map My Run'.
